Valerian did not enter a boxing gym until the age of 30. She went on to compete in 64 fights, beat 3 olympians and became a world top 20 boxer. She was Dominica's first boxer to win a medal at a continental championship and the first female boxer to represent Dominica on an international platform. In 2016, she was awarded Dominica's 'Sportswoman of the Year'. Valerian is now Co-Founder of 'The Spicer Method' - 6 states of mind for mental and physical performance, the Technical Director at Aberfeldy Boxing Club in London (affiliated with England Boxing), a Level 2 England Boxing
