Join Chiara, a Year 10 student, youth ambassador for Festival of the Girl, for a fun and inspiring workshop designed to help Year 5 and Year 6 girls feel confident and excited about starting secondary school. Through games, creative activities, and real-life tips, you’ll explore your strengths, learn how to make new friends, get organised, and discover what to expect. Whether you’re feeling nervous or curious, this session will help you feel ready to take the leap. Let’s JUMPSTART your journey together!

My name is Chiara, I’m 14 years old and got involved with Festival of The Girl during the 2020 and 2021 virtual festivals. In 2021, I was delighted to win the #girlpower2021 competition with my vlog, which led to the opportunity to take part in a photoshoot alongside inspiring women. I was interviewed by BBC Radio Scotland about my experience, which was both exciting and rewarding.

I was honoured to become Festival of The Girl’s first Youth Ambassador and have thoroughly enjoyed supporting the organisation through volunteering at their in person events and contributing as a member of the Youth Advisory Board.

I have family in Cyprus, Italy, Corfu and Australia, and I love spending time with and helping to look after my younger cousins.

Outside of Festival of The Girl, I am a member of DSL Dance School’s Elite Competition Team, I’m learning to play the bass guitar and I take singing lessons. I enjoy musical theatre, Disney films, cooking and spending time with my friends. Earlier this year, I achieved my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and I am currently working towards my Silver Award.
