Our Festivals

Festival of The Girl 2023 saw us returning to the Business Design Centre in Islington, North London with even more activities and workshops for the girls and their families to enjoy.

We were so excited to be live again in 2022 at the Business Design Centre in Islington, North London. With over 1000 attendees, 50+ activity stalls, 8 main stage acts and 28 workshops it was a jam packed day of inspiring and engaging content for the girls and their families.

Not only that but we  created an exciting free virtual hub and Festival of The Girl activity book so no one missed out. We also had 100s of girls taking part in our #FutureGirlPledge campaign.

For Festival of The Girl 2021 our free bespoke child-safe virtual festival was back. It launched on Sunday 10th October, in celebration of International Day of the Girl, and was live for the whole of October.

Our theme, My Brilliant Body, was created to change girls' perceptions of their bodies.  Celebrating them for what they do for us, rather than how they are seen by others, and redefining what Girl Power means in 2021.

From sports and body image, physical careers from construction to being a surgeon and activities like beatboxing and coding, and so much more, we were committed to showing girls that their bodies are brilliant in every way.

We were so inspired by all the girls (and boys) who took part this year - from all over the world. If you missed it you can find all the incredible videos and activities on our Festival of The Girl YouTube channel, here

Like everyone in 2020, we adapted and went online with our event. We created a bespoke child-safe virtual festival site with over 80 interactive videos and activities for girls and their families to enjoy. Every child who signed up received a Festival of The Girl journal and lanyard to help create the festival experience at home.

Young girls are our future change makers so through the Future World galaxy the girls could explore anything from STEM to mental health, sport global warming, and activism to architecture.

With more than 2000 girls signed up from all over the world, over 3300 plays of videos and 284 hours of content watched (that's nearly 12 days of footage in one day!) we were able to create a lasting impact in a tough year.

If you missed it click here for our YouTube channel where you can find all the incredible videos and activities that were created for Festival of The Girl 2020.

We were thrilled to host our hugely successful inaugural festival on Saturday 5th October, 2019 in Tower Hamlets, celebrating the 200 girls (and boys) who came and took part.

With workshops, interactive stalls, Q&A’s and plenty of inspiring role models from The British Army to a professional pop group, we shaped our festival around the theme of 'Future Opportunities'.

“Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire is proud to be able to support the Festival of the Girl event.  It is so important that we inspire and educate girls at such a young age and ensure that they have the resources to reach the goals they set for themselves. My daughter loved the event and can’t wait to go again next year.”
