About NWC ( Northwood College Girls GDST)
We are proud to be part of the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust), which has championed and advocated for girls’ education and the development of girls’ strengths, skills and confidence since its foundation over 150 years ago.
As a GDST school, we are part of a national sisterhood of schools dedicated to providing an outstanding education for girls. Northwood College for Girls is a forward-thinking, vibrant and innovative independent girls’ school in Northwood, with a community of pupils aged 3–18. We specialise in supporting girls and families as they transition through their school careers and understand the importance of supporting them as they navigate key transitions. Last year, as part of a GDST-led project, our Sixth Form students worked alongside our Head of Juniors, parents and pupils to create a journal designed to support girls and their families as they transition from Junior School to Senior School. We love innovation and tech so are delighted too that some of our girls are able to attend from our robotics club to spread their love of tech too more girls.
We are delighted to be attending the Festival of the Girls exhibition, where our team will be on hand to share more about our school, as well as practical advice and insights on transition from our students, staff and a parent. We look forward to meeting you and sharing our experience of supporting girls through these important stages of their education and an opportunity to develop some tech skills with our Y6 and Y7 pupils.
What we will be doing at the Festival
You can trial some of the activities and tasks from the journal and talk openly to our wonderful students about moving from Junior School to Senior School. You can also look at our student-created journal and purchase a copy. We will also have a selection of some tech related activities which we know you will enjoy programming
We couldn't be more excited to create a magical weekend together for the girls.
