About Rising Sons 

Rising Sons is a year-long programme for fathers and their sons aged 8–10, designed to strengthen their bond through monthly gatherings, play, conversation and challenge. Boys grow in confidence, empathy and self-awareness while having fun and sharing new experiences; fathers and sons build a deeper, more connected relationship within a supportive community of like-minded families.

What we’ll be doing at Festival of The Girl 

At Festival of The Girl, Rising Sons will be listening to girls’ voices and their hopes for the boys of tomorrow. We’ll invite girls to share what they would like boys to know, understand or do as they grow up, from being a good friend and talking openly about their feelings to respecting boundaries and standing up for others.  Their messages will come together as a collaborative artwork celebrating the kind of boys, and future men, our communities need and reminding us all that girls’ voices have an essential part to play in imagining that future.
